Rangers and Zenit St Petersburg are unlikely to face any punishment over the events which which led to the stabbing of a Russian fan at the Uefa Cup final.
But Uefa's director of communications William Gaillard said the Russian club may face sanctions over their fans running on to the pitch during and after their victory at the City of Manchester Stadium.
"We will have to await the delegates report ... but regarding the stabbing, it did take place within the parameters of the stadium and these Rangers fans managed to get into the Zenit zone," Gaillard said. "But this was a small group of individuals for which the clubs and the majority of fans which behaved very well can be punished for nor held accountable for.
"We could take action over the pitch encroachments if we find any blame with the club."
Walter Smith has urged his Rangers players to forget their disappointment and concentrate on completing the domestic treble.
Rangers can add the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Cup to the League Cup they have already secured this season but have to retain their focus for the remaining four matches of the campaign.
"We are disappointed to lose a final at the end of what has been a very long campaign," Smith said after seeing his side beaten 2-0 by Zenit. "But we have an opportunity with four games to go to win two trophies so I would hope that we can overcome the disappointment."
Midfielder Igor Denisov and Konstantin Zyrianov scored the goals that shattered Rangers' dreams.
