The Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) has regularly been accused of committing police brutality ever since the beginning of the 2019 Anti-Extradition Bill Protests in Hong Kong, but recently the accusations have escalated to include the specific charge that the force has been acting "out of control."
Based on our analysis of a video that documented an encounter between the public and police, we can now corroborate at least in part the veracity of the allegations.
On 30 October 2019 a social worker - Key - was assaulted by the police during a public gathering at a park on Arran Street. However, further review of the video footage revealed that five more members of the public were also subjected to an abuse of powers by the HKPF.
