Google 日前宣佈其已斥資 54 億美元收購了知名網路安全公司 Mandiant，在交易正式完成後，Mandiant 將被整合入 Google 的雲端部門，以發揮為企業客戶提供「端到端安全營運套件」的作用。按照 Mandiant CEO Kevin Mandia 的說法，這筆收購能讓「客戶企業有效、持續地管理和配置 Mandiant 豐富的安全產品組合」。在此之前 Google 的雲平台已經為許多大型公司所採用（比如 Spotify、Snapchat、Discord），但其也的確發生過導致不少服務癱瘓的故障，因此靠收購來加強安全性也可以說是非常合理的決定了。

當然，對於許多非業內人士來說，Mandiant 並不是一個熟悉的名字。但之前的 SolarWinds 被駭事件、Equifax 安全事故、T-Mobile 系統漏洞等在事發後都是交由這家公司來處理，而且它還與各大銀行及政府保持著密切的合作關係。在 2013 年時 Mandiant 曾被 FireEye 收購過一次，但在去年他們又被剝離了出來。實際上，在上月初時也曾傳出過微軟對 Mandiant 有意的流言，但前者最終退出了談判。
